A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

Getting through my household chores and anything else that NEEDS my attention as fast as I can, in order to get back to my studio to make art. Oh, and I do love to garden as well.

2. Why do you make art?

It's who I am: I wouldn't feel truly like myself if I didn't have my art, it's my passion. To be able to convey in my art, some of the beauty around me that inspires me, is a privilege and a blessing.

3. What inspires you?

I see beauty everywhere I look. Landscapes, water, flowers, trees, even weeds and insects (not the slimy or creepy ones, lol.) The way the sunlight hits an object and casts a shadow never fails to draw my attention.

4. What/who are your influences?

I am especially drawn to the work of Degas and his use of color and the drawn line in his work. As far as contemporary influences, I am captivated by the work of Ann Blockley and would love to someday take a workshop from her! She captures the natural world in a way that resonates with me unlike any other!

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Eve. I'd really like to ask that chick what the heck she was thinking when she ate that blasted apple! Lol. But seriously, I guess it would be Ann Blockley, to be mentored by her would be a dream come true!
